Mark Wahlberg

Mark Robert Michael Wahlberg was born on June 5th, 1971. A young Wahlberg dropped out of high school at age 14 to pursue a life of petty crime and drugs. Apparently he spent his days scamming and stealing, working on the odd drug deal before indulging in the substances himself. The young man also had a violent streak.

At only 16, Mark was convicted of assault against two Vietnamese men after he tried to rob them, one of them was left blind in one eye. As a result Mark was sentenced to 45 days in prison at Deer Island penitentiary. In prison he started weight training to pass time, at the completion of the sentence he emerged with a muscular body that would later help to build his career. Mark also credits the jail time as being his motivation to improve his lifestyle and leave the life of crime behind.

Marks brother Donnie Wahlberg, who was in the boy band The New Kids On The Block tried to get him on the straight and narrow. He pulled some strings and got Mark set up with a recording contract. Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch was born.

He later became an underwear model for the famous designer Calvin Klein. His scantily clad body was soon on billboards across the USA.

Mark then tried his hand at acting, dropping his music tag of Marky Mark and going back to Mark Wahlberg. He went on to a very successful movie career with a list of credits that include Three Kings, The Perfect Storm, Planet of The Apes, and Boogie Nights.
